Throughput 150 150 CloudGovCo

Throughput is a measure of flow in a project. Use throughput (flow rate) instead of points estimation in Agile development.

Throughput = Units/Flow Time

Units: the number of work units (features) currently within the business process.

Flow time: the time the units spend in the business process from the beginning to the end.

Flow rate (throughput): the rate at which the number of units goes through the process per unit time. The rate is measured in units/per time (e.g., unit/minute).
